Thomas “Tom” Francis Byrne, Jr.

Thomas “Tom” Francis Byrne, Jr., 83, was born in Chicago IL to Thomas Francis Byrne Sr. and Della McHugh. He grew up on the Northwest side attending St Veronica grammar school, St Patrick High School and Loyola University.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and continuing for over twenty years in the reserves.

He worked as a sales manager in the computer system industry, focusing mostly on the Midwest.

He had a lifelong love of reading and was a history buff. He was a news junkie who loved discussing anything political.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Byrne and two sons Thomas Francis Byrne III of Chicago IL and Aaron G Byrne of Knox IN.

A Mass honoring his life will be held at St Charles Borromeo Morganton on October 27, 2026, at 12 noon. Internment at the Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain will be private.

The family requests donations in Tom’s memory be made to the Grace Ridge Endowment Fund, St Charles Borromeo Church or Amorem Hospice.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
