Terry “Scooter” Williams, 67, of Morganton, NC, passed away February 19, 2026.
Born on May 5, 1959 in Covington County, AL, he was the son of the late Isaac Wallace and Linda Moses Wallace.
Scooter served in the U.S. Air Force as a young man and gave his life to Christ in 2018. Following that career, he took pride in working with his hands mechanically and really enjoyed the freedom of spending time riding motorcycles. Those who knew him well would say at his best, he was funny, hardworking, and very strong-willed. Scooter expressed his love to his family, friends, and his beloved dogs in a way uniquely all his own that only those who really knew him understood. He will be missed until his loved ones reunite with him in heaven.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Brandy Reese and husband, Charles, and Cherie Perez and husband, Eli; grandchildren, Lathaniel Reese, Jadon Reese, Alexus Gilmore, and Jordan Gilmore; sister, Sabrina Williams and husband, Steve; and brother, Stephen Wallace and wife, Yer.
In addition to his parents, Scooter was preceded in death by his step-son, Jody Auton; and nephew, Brandon Williams.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
