Sybil Parker Bartlett, 61, formerly of Sugar View Drive, Marion, NC died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Grace Heights Health Care Center in Morganton, NC. Born in McDowell County, NC on November 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late DeFoix Parker and Mabel Rumfelt Parker.Sybil is survived by her daughters, Mabel Davis and husband, Wayne, of Morganton and Holly Bartlett of York, SC; sons, James Mills and wife, Debbie, and Robert Bartlett, all of Marion, NC; a brother, DeFoix Parker, II of Marion; and seven grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Conner, and a brother, James Parker.The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Vein Mountain Baptist Church in Marion, NC with Rev. Barry Gouge officiating. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Granny, not a day goes by I dont miss you and want to tell you all the crazy things I've encountered on this crazy thing called life. I got married, I think you would like him alot he treats me good and he would definitely make you laugh! I started collecting shoe figurines like you did. I know in my heart that you met uncle Robert at those pearly gates I miss him too, more than anything I just want to hug you again! Every now and then I get a faint scent of you and it takes me back to my childhood I love you Granny and I miss you so so much! I cant wait to see you again but until then ill talk to everyone red bird I see. Please keep watching over me and being my guardian angel! Love always Britt
