Susan Ann Hart Dean

Susan Ann Hart Dean, 82, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina died on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born December 24, 1930 in Granite Falls, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Ballard and Oletta Hart. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Calvin Dean, whom she married on July 1, 1950.Susan was an accomplished artist and published author. She made dolls, miniature furniture, and designed and built dollhouses. She was a long time member of Drexel First Baptist Church in Drexel, NC. She loved art, music, and reading.She is survived by her children, Susanne Dean of Myrtle Beach, Calvin Dean, Jr. and his wife, Renae, of Greensboro, NC, and Laura Dean and her fiancé, James Long, of Chester, SC; and her granddaughter, Emily Dean of Chapel Hill, NC. Also surviving are her brothers, Roger Hart and Dean Hart, and her sisters, Sarah Kneer and Sandra Austin along with a number of nieces and nephews, who were very dear to her.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Tito Madrazo officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
