Stan Almond, 70, of Morganton, NC passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1955 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late R.L. Almond and Robbie Jean McClamrock Almond. Stan was a man of faith and exhibited that through his ministry at Autumn Care Nursing Home. Anyone who knew him, knew his love for Christ. He was an amazing husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend. Stan loved playing the guitar, banjo, and mandolin. If he wasn’t praising God with his music, he was tinkering with his tools and cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fabena Almond; sisters Sue Harris and Donna Pittman; brother, Coy Pittman.

Stan is survived by a daughter, Susan Almond; stepdaughter, April Monroe (Ken); grandchildren, Storm Monroe, Blue Monroe and Haven Monroe; dear friend, Nate Pepka, whom Stan mentored; extended family; and fur baby, Sparky.

Family will recieve friends from 10am until 11am, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Victory Temple, in Nebo, NC. A memorial service will follow in the church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

A great loss to his family but a great addition to add Stan’s voice to a heavenly choir. I believe Jesus embraced Stan with a , welcome home thy good and faithful servant! His grandchildren will miss him , but will always remember his love and encouragement.

Stan has been a part of our lives and family for over 25 years as we celebrated the birth and growth of our the three grandchildren we shared. Stan was always there to love and encourage them. We loved sharing those special moments with him and Fabena. He will definitely be missed by them & us. Sending prayers to all of his family & friends!

I love how much of a light Stan was. He would talk to his niece Monee and I often. What a blessing Stan was to this world. I know he heard "Well done good and faithful servant." We love and miss you Stan. Grateful to have met such a phenomenal man of God.
