Born in Tarboro NC, July 28th 1949, and making her journey home on December 28, 2023, Sherry Suiter is finally back with the love of her life Lonnie Suiter and her savior in Heaven.

At 5:18pm she took her final breaths in this world, loved ones by her side as she sang and danced her way through the pearly gates. Sherry joined her beloved husband Lonnie Suiter, sister Judy Bayliss, parents Mae and Mickey Joyner, and of course all of her loving dogs. Sherry leaves behind her son Joe Suiter, wife Kelli Suiter, Granddaughter Haven Suiter, son Chris Suiter, sister Juana Abernethy, her loving puppy Sandy, and everyone she cared for.

It is so difficult to explain what kind of woman Sherry Suiter was, her kindness towards others, love for everyone around her, and pure joy she brought with her everywhere was infectious. The way she made us laugh, how she cared when we cried, how she brought happiness with her to every occasion, and just the pure joy she showed for her life and everyone in it.

Though Sherry did not have the easiest journey with her health, she was a fighter, and always loved life! There are endless stories we could all tell about Sherry and what a wonderful soul she was. There was never a dull moment, and that's what made her so wonderful.

This is a sad day but it is also a celebration of our beautiful Mom and her amazing life.

We love you, we will miss you, and we will see you again when our time has come.

It has been a true blessing having you in our lives. Until we meet again…

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. The graveside service will follow 4 p.m. in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Joe and Chris, I am sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. From Scouts, to sleep overs to soccer there was never a dull moment. From the time you guys moved up to NC your mom took in a bunch of kids and treated them as her own, on and off the field. She was always a wonderful person to have in your corner. Dad and I are thinking of your family. Scotty
