Shelby “Cookie” Epley, 73, of Morganton passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born on September 30, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Vassie Epley.
Cookie loved playing checkers, watching wrestling and westerns. She enjoyed sharing with others anything she had. Cookie was a very kind and loving spirit.
Cookie is survived by her brothers, Ray, Joe and Nelson Epley; brother-in-law, David Hutchins; niece and caregiver, Shelia Taylor and her husband, Robert; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Hutchins and Shirley Yount; brother, Thomas Epley.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
