Shelba “Jean” Condrey Mull, 89, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family.

Born in McDowell County, NC on March 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William Herman Condrey and Texanna Sowers Condrey.

Jean was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. A godly, kind, and generous wife and mother, she loved people and cared for anyone in need. She enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers and sharing her knowledge with others, especially through cooking. Jean was known for her cheerful spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and skill as a master seamstress.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Denise Mull Williams (Norman), David Clyde Mull (Tammy), Richard Brian Mull (Crystal), and John William Mull (Carole); twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Stillwell Condrey; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Richard Mull; brothers, Harold and Eddie Joe Condrey; and sister-in-law, Patsy Condrey.

The family wishes to express special thanks and gratitude to all Jean’s dedicated caregivers.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Dr. Darren Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
