Sarah Margaret Turner Graham Bell passed away peacefully on December 18, 2013; she had turned 90 two months earlier on October 18, 2013. Sarah married Don Graham who died in 1986. She later met and married Dr. Ira Bell and moved to North Carolina. She was known as Sarah by her friends and family in North Carolina and known as Marg by her friends and family in Iowa where she lived for 67 years.Sarah was born in Hansel, Iowa to Al and Ruth West Turner. Most of her youth was spent in Pocahontas, Iowa; she graduated from the University of Iowa and distinguished herself as a teacher in Iowa City for many years. She will be missed by friends and relatives who have appreciated her beauty, wit and kindness.Sarah is survived by her husband, Dr. Ira E. Bell; children, Robert A. Graham and his wife, Peggy, of Longmont, CO, Dr. Margaret A. Graham and her husband, Dr. James Marshall, of Athens, GA, and Nancy A. Pacha and her husband, Gary, if Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Caroline Schultz, Kristin Arkema, Ryan Graham, Steven Graham, Alex Graham, and Kevin Kissler; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sofia, Nadia, and Sasha Schultz and Jack, Mace, and Max Arkema. She is also survived by step-children, Dr. Ira Bell Jr., Tom Bell, John Bell and Laura Smith.In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald A. Graham; a sister, Evelyn Norman; and a brother, James Turner.Services at Grace Ridge Community Room will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 21. A memorial service will be held in Iowa City, IA at a later date. Sarah will be buried in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Her family wishes to express their deep gratitude to those from the dedicated health care staff at Grace Ridge who served her needs so well in her final days.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
