Sarah Lane Walker, 77, of Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2006 at her residence. Born May 13, 1928, she was the daughter of Shufford and Sue Propst Lane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin McLean Walker, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Sarah loved to cook and quilt.
She is survived by her son, Mack Ervin Walker and wife, Elaine, of Morganton; a grandson, Scott Walker of Morganton; and a brother, Luther Lane.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverends David Mills, Eddy Bunton, and Bill Holland officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burkemont Baptist Church Building Fund, 4668 Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
