Sammy Lawrence “Bobo” Morton

Sammy Lawrence “Bobo” Morton, 82, of Taylorsville, NC passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1943 in Burke County to the late Alex Morton, Jr and Vicie Walker Morton. Bobo had attended Friendship Baptist Church. He attended school in Morganton and helped at Dales’s Antiques. Bobo loved eating gravy biscuits.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Alex Morton, III and Charlie Thomas Morton; sisters, Mary Lee Basnette and Dorothy Benfield.

Bobo is survived by a brother, Glen Douglas Morton; sisters, Katie Ann Powell and Faye Marie McGalliard (John); and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 1pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Watkins officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
