Samantha “Florence” Hodges, 77, of Morganton passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Hudson County, NJ on April 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Russell Schultz and Anne Ryan Schultz. Florence was a very thoughtful and giving person. She worked at Broughton Hospital for several years and volunteered in the BUCM Soup Kitchen.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Tamara and Deborah Hodges; grandchildren, Parker Hodges, David Chester, Robert Crawford, Amanda Marie Hall, Lisa Tyre, Selena Ratcliff, and Bryan Broxton; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests you honor Florence’s memory with an act of kindness.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
