Sadie Fox Thompson

Sadie Fox Thompson, 84, of Morganton, NC died Monday, February 23, 2015 following a period of declining health. Born October 30, 1930 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. Fox and Buena Tinsley Fox. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Sadie enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sewing, and working in her flower gardens. Sadie was the medical assistant for Dr. W. C. Arney for 34 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Sadie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill Thompson of the home; a son, Mark Thompson and his wife, Rebecca, of Morganton; grandchildren, Katherine Thompson and husband, Jody Carswell, and Brandson Thompson and wife, Summer; great-grandchildren, Emma Carswell and Ellie Carswell; a sister, Millie Harbison of Morganton; a brother, Charles A. Fox, Jr. and wife, Dean of Huntersville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Smith, Lena Hairfield, and Sadie’s twin, Sara Annis.
A private family memorial service will be held at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Chaplain Larry Cronk officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
