Roy Randall “Randy: Throneburg, 66, of Morganton, NC, gained his heavenly wings on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Born in Yancey County, NC on December 29, 1956, he was the son of Larry Rodger Throneburg and Helen Gail Duncan Throneburg.

Randy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved working in his church. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed anything outdoors, sports of all kinds, and especially spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Randy is survived by his daughter, Allison Throneburg; Allison’s mother, Lorraine Ryan; sister, Kim Throneburg (Charlie Hollifield), niece, Hannah Throneburg; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Roy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Wilma Duncan, Rodger and Fay Throneburg; and a brother, Larry Rodger Throneburg, II.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Revs. J.R. Robbins, Kevin Sizemore, and Doug St. John officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
