Roy Ledford, 91 of Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Born on March 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Lemmie and Becky Ledford. Roy was a member of Saint Matthews UMC where he sang in the choir and was involved in the Diaper Closet Ministry. He was an assistant manager at A&P Grocery Store and later retired from Drexel Heritage. Roy was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Roy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hannah Ledford; brother-in-law, Robert Turner; nephew, David Turner (Leslie); great-niece, Megan Turner; great-nephew, Justin Tuner; and a host of cousins and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by an infant twin sister, sister-in-law, Katherine Turner; niece, Donna Fields; nephew, Danny Turner.
The family will receive friends from 3pm until 5pm, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at St. Matthew's UMC with the Rev. Jacob Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Valley Church in Bostic, NC.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
