Roy Davis Henson, 75, of Newland, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Levi Henson and Gladys Carpenter Henson.
Roy was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed the mountain scenery, going places with his brother, and walking his dog, Riley. He had a green thumb and loved his flowers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Tim Henson (Ginger), brothers, Harold Henson and Leroy Henson; sister, Grace McCall; and a nephew and his family, Chris Arney.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Henson; and sisters, Margaret Henson Arney and Mary Henson.
No services are planned for Roy.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
