Rosa Lee Garrison Dockery

Rosa Lee Garrison Dockery, 84, of Morganton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her residence following a period of declining health. Born on April 20, 1926 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Roy R. Garrison and Dorothy Christine Ross Garrison. Rosa was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. She had worked for A & P Grocery for 29 years, and K-Mart for 13 years.She is survived by her husband of 44 years, J. D. Dockery of the home; siblings, Thurman "Buster" Garrison, Ruby G. James, and Martha G. Barbee, all of Morganton; step-children, Hal Dockery and Brenda Seats, both of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Deviney officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Enka, NC. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
