Roger Dean Hastings, 80, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on November 23, 1945, he was the son of the late Theodore Hastings and Ruth Ledford Hastings.
Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors and anything concerning nature, especially fishing and hiking (including along the Appalachian Trail). Roger retired from the High Rise with the Department of Corrections.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Millie Carswell Hastings; sons, Jamie Hastings (Crystal) and Mark Hastings (Keisha); grandsons, Tyler, Marcus, and Eli Hastings; brother, Bill Hastings (Jackie); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
