Roger Dale McLean, 74, of Morganton, NC, peacefully entered his eternal rest on Monday, February 9, 2026 after an extended period of declining health.

Born in Valdese, NC on November 13, 1951, he was the son of the late Lowman T. McLean and Fonda Pyatte McLean.

Roger worked at Drexel Heritage, Plant 6, and Henredon. He later attended CVCC and obtained his truck driving license. Mr. McLean enjoyed watching westerns, vintage cars, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered most for his great love of music.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Ann Campbell (Maynard) of Morganton, Kathy Puett (Jack) of Morganton, and Linda Dellinger of Valdese; brothers, Steve McLean (Pam) of Valdese, and Lowman “Junior” McLean of Valdese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis McLean and David McLean; and brother-in-law, Rick Dellinger.

A memorial service for Roger will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home, PO Box 2608, Morganton, NC 28680 to assist with funeral expenses.

The family would like to express their appreciation to friends, Christie Carroll and Jolynn Pruett for their great assistance. They would also like to thank the staff of Amorem Hospice for their compassionate care of Roger.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
