Robert Lee Brown, 85, of Drexel, NC, formerly of Spruce Pine, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Born in Spruce Pine, NC on September 18, 1931, he was the son of the late David Frank Brown and Pansy McKinney Brown. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture Company. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Janette B. Langley of Morganton; a son, Robert Scott Brown of Morganton; his former wife, Dorothy Riddle Brown of Morganton; a sister, Barbara Dalmas of Jonesville, NC; and 8 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Brown.
The memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Zion Road Baptist Church (2328 Zion Road, Morganton) with the Rev. Micah Piercy officiating. Memorial honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
