Robert L. Hoyle, 82 of Morganton, NC, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, September 11, 2026. Born on September 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Thurman and Jenny Hoyle. Robert was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. After working in construction for most of his life, he retired from Henredon Furniture. Robert loved spending time at the coast fishing with his wife.
Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Faye Hoyle; daughters, Frances Benfield (Randy) and Gina Hoyle; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernest Hoyle (Kathryn), Keith Hoyle (Michelle), Mildred Nolting; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his six sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends from 11am until noon, Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at noon with the Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Watershed Road.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
