Robert “J. D.” Crane, 80, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 08, 2016. Born in Polk Co. on February 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert Joseph Marlowe Crane and Victoria Bowen Crane. Mr. Crane was employed for many years in the textiles industry.
J. D. is survived by his sisters, Betty Lou Crane and Hazel Perry and a large number of nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, J. D. was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Lou Thompson Crane; a brother, Garland M. Crane; and sisters, Ruth Webb and Frances Woodell.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Spring Hill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee, SC.
The family extends a special thank you for the wonderful care given to J. D. by the staffs of Morganton Long Term Care and Magnolia Lane.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
