Robert C. Rumpel, 68, of Levittown, PA passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 while surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert Carl Rumpel and Lola Edith Beck Rumpel. He moved to Morganton with his parents in 1980 and worked at Broughton Hospital. He loved to fish. He moved back to Pennsylvania in 2016 to live with his brother.
Robert is survived by his loving brother, John Rumpel (Sue); niece, Carol Rumpel Saxton (Tony); great-nephews, John and Michael Saxton; and many cousins.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center in Morganton with Rev. Allison Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

I am saddened to learn of Robert's passing some years after his Earthly walk with us came to its end. I knew Robert "Bob" Rumpel from having worked closely with him at Two Guys on Route1 in Levittown/Langhorne, Pennsylvania. We worked as Utility Men in the 800 classification in the busy store in the early-1970s. Robert was as generous and kind a soul as has ever lived. I will always carry fond memories of working together with this optimistic and generous soul. So long, Robert "Bob" Rumpel, we hardly knew ye.
