Robert “Bob” Bennett Miller

Robert “Bob” Bennett Miller, 81, of Valdese, NC died peacefully at Burke Hospice on April 8^th, 2019.  He was born on June 8, 1937 in Caldwell County to Earl Patton Miller and Edna Powell Miller.  He graduated from Lenoir High School where he played football and baseball.  Bob earned a bachelor’s degree from NC State University.  He enjoyed a long career as a Plant Manager for Drexel Heritage Furnishings Co.  He was a longtime member of Drexel First Baptist Church.  Bob enjoyed many hobbies from raising and showing poodles to flying to picture framing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and oldest brother Jerry Powell Miller and his wife Judy.

Surviving are wife, Barbara; and son Kevin (Miranda Stamper) Miller and grandson of Unionville, NC, Eric (Sherry) Miller of Lenoir, Brent (Linda, deceased) Miller of Granite Falls, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the chapel of Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum in Morganton.  A memorial service will follow at 1:30 pm at Drexel First Baptist Church.  Receiving and a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Drexel First Baptist Church and/or to Burke Hospice.
