Rickie Arnold Clark, 69, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 17, 1956, he was the son of the late Arnold Clark and Sadie Emma Cook Clark.
Rickie loved animals and they loved him, especially Gidget and Butter. He enjoyed camping with Doug at Steele Creek and going to town to buy lottery tickets. Rickie also enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and reading his books. Another of Rickie’s hobbies was going to Walmart to look at CDs and DVDs. He took great pleasure in going to Skill Creations Day Placement to see his friends, and he made lots of great memories.
After years of living in group homes, he came back to Morganton to be cared for by family – the Wilsons and Burroughs. Rickie enjoyed living with his family and was greatly cared for. Doug and Gail Wilson, along with Raelyn and Dalton Burroughs, welcomed him with open arms. He was very special to them, and he enjoyed looking after Raelyn and Dalton’s daughter, Adalynn. Ricky loved all his family and caregivers, and he always greeted them with a wave saying “Hey!” When someone would leave or he was going to see his friends at Skill Creations, he would say “See you later.” So this isn’t “Goodbye,” we will “See you later” Rickie! With love, Raelyn, Dalton, Adalynn, Doug, Gail, and Tiffany
Those left to cherish his memory include two siblings, Brian and Rita; a number of nieces and nephews; and his caregivers, Doug and Gail Wilson, and Raelyn and Dalton Burroughs.
In addition to his parents, Rickie was preceded in death by two siblings, Jeffrey and Lyna.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
