Richard “Rick” Weller, 66, of Catawba, NC died Thursday, April 21, 2016. Born in Catawba County, NC n April 7, 1950, he was the son of David Roy Goodwin. Rick was a member of Horizon Church in Morganton and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved science fiction and Star Trek. He was a member of the Klingon Assault Group where he raised money for hospice and other organizations.
Rick is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Beach of Catawba; and a son-in-law, Kevin Edmonds of Catawba.
Mr. Weller was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ora Carpenter Weller.
A memorial service for Mr. Weller will be held at a later date. Please contact the family to find out the date of the service.
