Richard “Dickie” Feimster, 63, of Morganton, NC passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on September 26, 1951, he was the son of Inita Hoyle Feimster and the late Harry Max Feimster. Dickie was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a self-taught, skilled musician who played the drums and sang in “Blind Justus”. He was a legend in Burke County. Dickie retired from the North Carolina School for the Deaf.
Mr. Feimster is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joyce Erwin Feimster of the home; a son, Adam Stuart Feimster and his wife, Cristy, of Houston, TX; a grandson, Max Feimster; step-children, Jim and Kathryn Deboer of Yuma, AZ, Marc and Karen Erwin of Mooresville, NC, John and Kristin Erwin of Morganton, and Chaplain Edward Erwin and his wife, Rhonda, of Italy; and nine step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Chaplain Edward Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
