Richard Alan Ferguson

Richard Alan Ferguson, 68, of Morganton died Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Richard was the son of Madeline Doll Ferguson of Huntington, NY and the late Robert G. Ferguson. Richard grew up in Long Island, NY and lived in Phoenix, AZ for 40 years. He retired from Northern Trust Bank in Phoenix and moved to Morganton in 2008 where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Person Ferguson; a son, Nathaniel Ferguson of Hickory, NC; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Ferguson of San Diego, CA; a sister, Virginia Parks and her husband, Tom, of Morganton; brothers, Russell Ferguson of Huntington, NY and Roger Ferguson and his wife, Lori, of New Salem, NY; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.Memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Friends for Animals, P.O.
