Rex Riddle, 86, of Morganton, NC passed away as God took him home peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1938 in Burke County to the late Vestal Riddle and Leola Sims Riddle. Rex was a member of Walking by Faith Baptist Church and retired from Bernhardt Furniture where he worked most of his life. He was a very loving man and everyone who met him, loved him. Rex loved to hunt foxes and rabbits with his beagles. He loved Zack and Joseph with all his heart, and they loved him very much even though they were his step-sons. Rex will be missed but if you are saved and living for God, you can see him again.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wives, Kate Riddle and Ruby Riddle; son, Allen Rex Riddle; brothers, Harold Riddle and Bobby Riddle; sister, Argual Bowman; great-grandchild, Olivia Schronce.

Rex is survived by his wife, Geraldine Jeanette Riddle; sons, Michael Scott Riddle (Sherri) and Larry Todd Riddle; grandchildren, Lacey Reeves (Cody), Anna Schronce (Kevin), and Lance Riddle; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Karis and Huffman; step-sons, Zachary Allen Goble and Joseph DeCosta Goble; sisters, Faye Franklin and Debbie Lugo Zehender.

The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 3pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Marvin Ford officiating. Burial will be private.
