Rex Alan McFalls, 62, of Morganton died Sunday, April 8, 2018.  He was born September 17, 1955 in Burke County to Margie Louise Beck McFalls Daniels and the late William Rex McFalls, Jr.  Rex was a loving father and grandfather.  He played and enjoyed bluegrass music and fishing.

In addition to his father, Rex was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Rex McFalls, Sr. and Ruth Mae McFalls; step-father, John Henry Daniels; and his best friend, Jimmy Corpening.

In addition to his mother, Rex is survived by his daughter, Megan McFalls and fiancée, Michael VanHorn; grandchildren, Lucas Coy Alan Triplett, David Elias “Eli” VanHorn, and Caleb Michael VanHorn; sisters, Patricia Renfro and husband, Mark, and Betty Jo Daniels; nephews, Dustin Calhoun, Lincoln Renfro, Colsen Renfro, Kalee Strickland, and Shian Strickland; aunt, Elaine Johnson; uncle, Less McFalls; special friends, Margaret McKinney, David McLean, Earline Nestor, and others; fishing buddy, Carl Hull; and canine companion, Sparky Joe Brown.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Son Light Baptist Church Cemetery.
