Reverend George Baker “Bake” Garman, 65, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, June 14, 2015. Born in Baltimore City, MD on September 15, 1949, he was a son of the late George Byerly Garman and Winifred Mae Baker Garman. Bake was a United States Veteran serving in the US Army Reserves. He was a Pastor of Life Church.
Reverend Garman is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Phillips Garman; a son, George Phillips Garman and Joy; daughters, Kelly Dawn Garman Grindstaff and Robert, Staci Renee’ Garman; a brother, James Donald Garman and Dottie; a sister, Peggy Garman Merryman and Ross; and a grandson, George Wesley Garman.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Reverends Wayne Preusz, Joe Harding and Roger Brackett officiating, burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
