Ray "June Bug" M. Ward, Jr.

Ray “June Bug” M. Ward, Jr., 61, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 28, 2018.  Born June 2, 1957 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of Emily Eva Wiseman Ward and the late Ray McDonald Ward.  He attended Laurel Haven Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, June Bug is survived by his wife, Revonda Piercy Ward; children, Jessie Ward and Christina Ward both of the home; brother, Tracy Ward and wife, Christine; sister, Mary E. Reed; and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, Tuesday, July 31 at Laurel Haven Baptist Church, 4978 Laurel Haven Avenue, Morganton.  The funeral will be held at 12 noon in the church with Rev. Ed Lawing and Rev. Mark Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow at Ernie Mack Reed Memorial Cemetery, Morganton, NC.
