On Thursday, March 23, 2017 Ray Daniel Freeman, 71 left his earthly home. He was born January 28, 1946, in Oak Hill to Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Annie Freeman who preceded him in death. Also preceding him was his wife, Veriena Clark Freeman; brothers, James Freeman, Ernest Freeman, and Ned Freeman; sisters, Elsie Miller, Lola Whisnant, and Lucy Branch.
Ray is survived by his children and their spouse, Kevin and Wendy Freeman of Glen Alpine, Tim and Shannon A. Freeman of Morganton, Shannon E. and Belva Freeman of Morganton; and daughters, Dreama and Melvin Cox of Lake Lure and Pam Dupuis of Lake James. He also has nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also, his brother, Bill Freeman of Morganton; and sisters, Gladys Ross of Drexel, Virginia Lafevers of Drexel, and Grace Robinson of Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
