Phillip Lee Thomas

Phillip Lee Thomas, 87, of Glen Alpine went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.  Born in Mitchell County, NC on November 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Reuben Thomas and Anna Mae Duncan Thomas.  Phillip was a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine and was a retired watchmaker of 42 years for Gregory Jewelers.  He was a former member of the Glen Alpine Ruritan Club.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Phillip is survived by his wife, Nancy Dale Thomas of the home; daughter, Phyllis Thomas Shade; son, Douglas Thomas and wife, Tammy; son-in-law, Timothy Shade; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Beth Thomas Rhyne and husband, Harold; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. John Terry officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glen Alpine First Baptist Church Building Fund.
