Peggy Shepherd Hogan passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Courtland Terrace. A native of Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Thompson Shepherd and the wife of the late Bob K. Hogan. Peggy was a long time member of North Morganton United Methodist Church, where she joyfully sang in the choir for over fifty years. She retired from the First Union National Bank. She will be remembered for her beautiful voice, million dollar smile, gracious hospitality, and love of family.Peggy is survived by two children, daughter, Sylvia Neely and husband, Bob of Gastonia, son, Bob K. Hogan and wife, Gloria of Morganton, grandchildren, Dr. Lauren Hogan of Morganton, Bobbie Altman and husband, Nick of Gastonia, Chris Neely and wife, Christy of Corvallis, Oregon, six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Benjaman, Andrew, George, Kleo, Josie, brothers, Bobby Jack Shepherd of Shelby and Doug Shepherd and wife, JoAnn of Morganton, and special friends, Arlene Teigue and Linda Hendrix.The family would like to thank Courtland Terrace and Gaston Hospice for their loving care and attention.The funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m., at North Morganton United Methodist Church, with friends received prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.. Entombment will be at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum following the service. The Reverend Neil Shaw will be officiating. Memorials may be made to North Morganton United Methodist Church at 900 Sanford Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
