Peggy Johnson Greene

Peggy Johnson Greene, 71, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021.  Born in Caldwell County, NC on November 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Johnson.  Peggy attended Lighthouse of Lenoir.  She retired from the Shaire Center but still enjoyed working part-time at various locations.  Peggy was a semi-professional clown known as Zoey, doing balloon-o-grams and birthday parties.

A devoted mother, Peggy is survived by her daughter, Amy Greene (Wilson); a number of cousins she loved dearly; cat, Kit Kat; dog, Olivia Grace; and her grand-dog, Isabella Rose.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her aunts, Nina Ingle, Nell Jarvis, Elda Baker, Lottie Smith, Gladys McCall, Vernie Johnson, and Liberty Johnson; uncles, Mack Johnson and Jack Johnson.

Peggy will be available for viewing from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton.  The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  The memorial service will follow at Lighthouse of Lenoir (222 Elizabeth Street, NW, Lenoir) with Pastor Scott Smith officiating.
