Peggie Burns Houser, 84, of Connelly Springs passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018.  Mrs. Houser was born May 31, 1934 in Burke County to the late Sanford Burns and Brintie Abee Burns.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Vale, NC.  Her children and grandchildren, whom she called her babies, were dearly loved by her.  Mrs. Burns retired from Drexel Heritage Plant #7.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Houser; daughters, Jeanette Houser and Barbara Gail Carswell; brothers, Archie, Bud, and Edward; and sister, Vernie.

Mrs. Houser is survived by daughters, Janet Weaver of Lenoir, Rheba Houser and companion, Elgie McGalliard of Connelly Springs, Wanda Baker and husband, Phillip of Morganton, Patsy Holt of Sevierville, TN, and Tammy Crouse and husband, Tim of Newton; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are siblings, Bonnie Lail of Morganton, Colin Burns of TN, and Bobby Burns of Taylorsville and sister-in-law, Maggie Burns of Casar.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, December 21 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 22 at Beulah Baptist Church, Vale NC with Rev. R.A. Brackett officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
