Paul Michaux, 92, of Morganton, NC went to live with Jesus on Sunday, May 10, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 27, 1922, he was the son of the late Walter Michaux and Lurie Corpening Michaux.  Paul was a life-long member of Hartland A.M.E. Church, serving as Steward and a member of the church cemetery committee.  He was employed by Great Lakes Carbon for 32 years.  An honest and fun-loving man who believed in working hard, Mr. Michaux’s smile and laughter-filled jokes will be missed.

Paul is survived by his wife of 24 years, Clara Ervin Michaux of the home; a son, Allen Michaux and his wife of Portsmouth, VA; step-children, Roger Kincaid and his wife, Brenda, of Morganton, Jessie Yount of Lenoir, NC; Terrie Riggsbee and her husband, Bobby, of Newport News, VA, Scotty Kincaid and his wife, Louise, of Durham, NC, and Princess Walden of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Paul Michaux, III and Nichole Michaux; fifteen other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relations; cherished friends, Novella Harshaw, Albert Harshaw, and Billy Johnson; and his faithful canine companion, Little Man.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Michaux was preceded in death by a son, Paul “Chucky” Michaux, Jr.; a brother, James Michaux; and a sister, Helen Corpening.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Hartland A.M.E. Church.  The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the church with the Rev. L.C. Corpening, the Rev. Herbert Carter, and the Rev. Jasper Hemphill officiating.  Burial will follow in Hartland Community Cemetery.  At other times the family will be at Paul’s home.
