With gratitude for a life well lived, a heart well loved, we honor and celebrate Paul Frederick Snider, 80, of Morganton, NC. He completed his earthly journey on January 15, 2026.

Born December 2, 1945, in Mecklenburg County. He was the son of the late Pearlie & Mabel Snider.

Paul was a happy soul—one who chose to make the best of any situation life placed before him. His joy was genuine, his spirit steady, and his heart open to all. He didn’t believe in empty gestures or grand sayings. He wouldn’t “give you the shirt off his back”—instead, he gave you something far more meaningful. He gave you his time. He fed you when you were hungry. He listened when you needed counsel. He prayed with you when your soul was heavy.

He was a constant presence—steady through hardship, gentle in wisdom, and faithful in love. His legacy is not found in possessions or accolades, but in the lives he touched, the hearts he comforted, and the family he built—by blood and by choice.

He is survived by his wife Susan Snider; daughter, Misty Maney & husband, James “Chip”; grandchildren, Grant Brown & wife, Caitlyn, Leya Brown & partner, Tucker Wimbish, Jonathan Gordon, Shawn Snider, Michaela Ayers & husband, Tim, & Michael Snider; brother, John Snider & wife, Brenda; sister, Dawn McLachlan & husband, Walter; sisters-in-law, Edna “Toon” Scott & Ruby “Nell” Huffman; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who became family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Snider; daughter, Jennifer Snider; & sister, Ruth Ball.

Though we grieve his loss deeply, we are grateful for the life he lived and the example he set. His love did not end with his passing—it lives on in each of us.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2pm at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center in Morganton, NC.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Glen Alpine Food Pantry.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
