Patsy Clodfelter Bowers, 84, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  Born in High Point, NC on March 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Simmons Clodfelter and Alma Betty Curry Clodfelter.  Patsy grew up in High Point and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Woman’s College (now UNC-G).  She enjoyed golfing, cooking, gardening, walking, and shopping with family.  She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband, and after his death she traveled with her family and girlfriends.  Patsy loved spending time at her beach home and loved supporting all of her grandchildren’s activities.  She was a member of Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.  Mrs. Bowers was a very active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and served on many committees.  She was a member of the Morganton Service League and volunteered with Burke County Schools helping students with reading and assisting students with special needs.

Patsy is survived by her son, Keith Bowers of Morganton; daughters, Lynne Bowers Caudle and her husband, Mike, of Raleigh, NC and Kelly Bowers Messenheimer and her husband, Geoff, of Morganton; grandchildren, Drew Bowers, Caroline Bowers, Morgan Luther, Benjamin Luther, Thomas Messenheimer, and Molly Messenheimer; a sister, Dorothy McLaughlin of Chapel Hill, NC; a brother, Bruce Clodfelter, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of High Point; a brother-in-law, Jim Greene of Lenoir, NC; and many loving nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Bowers.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. John Fowler and the Rev. Charlotte Brendle officiating.  The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
