Patricia Mills

Patricia Mills, 84, of Morganton, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1941 in Dare County, NC to the late Durwood Carraway and Alna Meekins Carraway. Patricia was a member of Greenville Church of God in Greenville, NC where she was a member of the Women’s Ministry and served on the Bereavement Committee. She taught Children’s Church and Sunday School. Her greatest life lesson was to always put God first. She enjoyed ceramics, shopping, word search puzzles, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite family memories were vacations and holidays. She kept children-including her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Durwood “Durry” Carraway; son-in-law, Tony Strickland.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Leslie Earl Mills; children, Steven Mills (Stephanie), Jamie Mumford (Van), Katrina Strickland; grandchildren, Jonathan Dixon, Meaghan Strickland, Brandon Strickland, Connor Mills, Elijah Mills, Sean Mills, Lena Mills, Johnathon Mumford (Ivonne), Mia Mumford (Cody Hardee), and Kyla Mumford; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Isabella, Dallas, Jackson, Alexandria, Chad, Hayes, Hyde, Caroline and Lillian.

The family will receive friends from 2-3pm Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Greenville Church of God in Greenville, NC. A memorial service will begin at 3pm in the church with Rev. Bennie Mills and Rev. Phillip Lyons officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
