Pansy Lane, 96, of Morganton, NC passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Born in Burke, NC on December 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sandy Clark and Iva Mattie Browning Clark.

Pansy loved her family. She enjoyed working at Shadowline for over 30 years and then loved caring for her patients at JIRDC for over 10 years after that.. Pansy enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and going on motorcycle trips with her husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Billy Lane (Cathie); daughter, Linda Smith; grandchildren, Jonathan Smith and Austin Smith III; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Madison Smith, and Eleanor Smith; and nephew, Mike Powell.

In addition to her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by her husband, John Patton Lane; sister, Ruth C. Bonomo; and nephew, Clark Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
