Onadine W. Poteat

Onadine W. Poteat, 79, of Morganton passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Born on March 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Williams. Onadine was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. Onadine loved to cook, crochet, knit, watch birds and garden.

Onadine is survived by her husband of 59 years, Farrell Edward Poteat; sons, Darren Poteat (Ann Marie), Rondall “Ron” Poteat (Lisa), Jason “Poe” Poteat (Valera); grandchildren, Cody, Amber, Johnathon, Jerica, Ben and Jace; and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Bessie Abigail Williams.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday April 27, 2019 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Chris Uren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
