Norman C Bolick, Sr., 90, of Morganton, NC passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 9th, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on December 31, 1933, he was the son of the late Ernest Owen Bolick and Catherine Cook Bolick.

He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Norman was a hardworking man who could do about anything he set his mind to. He worked at Skyland Textile Company for 24 years before becoming self-employed.

Norman enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and most of all, he dearly loved the coast and spent as much time as possible there. He also loved his family and friends and his beloved dog, Lucy.

Norman was preceded in death by his siblings; Christine Bush, Verdia Crockett, Ned Bolick, and Peggy Brendle.

Norman is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sain Bolick of the home; children, Clay Bolick and wife, Sandy, Linda Bolick Cooper and husband, David; grandchildren, Amanda Bolick Butler, Kelly Bolick, Brad Cooper and Andrew Cooper and fiancée Jackie Shubert; great-grandchildren, Murphy Butler, Winston Butler, and Burton Butler.

At his request, no formal service is planned at this time. The family is planning a private service at a later date.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My sympathy to Carolyn, children and family in the loss of Norman. He was well liked in school and graduated with the Morganton High School class of 1953. We had many class meetings at Timberwoods after graduation and he and Carolyn were always there. He had many health problems along the way and now God has taken care of them.
