Nola Denton Mull, 103, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Britthaven of Morganton where she had been a resident for 13 years. She was born in Burke County on April 26, 1907 and was the last of eleven children of the late Tilden Vance Denton and Mary Jane Buff Denton. Mrs. Mull was a homemaker who was creative in quilt making and crocheting. She had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her. She was a former member of Mull’s Grove Baptist Church.She is survived by one son, Spencer Mull and his wife, Martha; a daughter, Sudie Mull Crowder and her husband, Ellis; and two daughters-in-law, Betty Mull Campbell and Julia Mull. Mrs. Mull is also survived by seven grandchildren, Susan Mull Farrington, John Mull, Donna Mull Harney, Geraldine Mull Fox, David Mull, Marla Mull Baird, Frankie Mull Hensley, and a step-grandson, Gilbert Crowder. Ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-granddaughters; and four great-great-grandchildren also survive her.In addition to her parents and her siblings, Mrs. Mull was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mull; four of her sons, Frank, Clyde, Max and Donald Mull; and by one grandchild, Tilden Mull.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with her grandchildren conducting the service. Mrs. Mull will then be taken to her final resting place at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MDA, 484 Williamson Rd., Suite A, Mooresville, NC 28117 in honor of one of Mrs. Mull’s great-grandsons, Bradley Dellinger, who has Friedreich Ataxia.
