Noah Rhodes, 63, of Morganton went out with a bang on Thursday, July 4, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 6, 1955, he was the son of Murray Toney Rhodes and the late Annie Catherine Orders Rhodes.  Noah was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.  Noah had served as a medic in the US Army and worked at Broughton Hospital.  He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hiking, fishing, and camping.  He also enjoyed music and working with his hands doing art, woodworking, and carving.  Noah always had a smile and was loved by all.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his daughter, Catherine “Cat” Logan (Kelly) of Morganton; grandchildren, Caleb and Karsyn Logan; beloved step-daughters, Ashley Lane and Kerri McFalls; brother, William Rhodes (Mary) of Greenville, NC; sister, Faye Hinshaw (David) of Charlotte; and nieces, Caroline Rhodes, Anna Rhodes, Elizabeth Jones, and Meredith Hinshaw.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.  A celebration of Noah’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with Revs. David Melton and Nancy Krall officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Relay for Life (www.relayforlife.org/burkecountync).

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Served in the Army with Noah, one of my best friends while at Fort Dix. Many fond memories, wish I could have seen my buddy one last time. RIP and fly high brother.
