Nettie Epley Taylor, 94, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 following a period of declining health.  Born July 26, 1921 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Walter Epley and Ida Moses Epley.  Nettie loved flowers, gardening, sewing, canning, and her church.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nettie is survived by daughters, Barbara Southworth and husband, Ed of Frankfort, KY, and Janice Wilson of Lakeland, FL; a son-in-law, Charles McMahon of Morganton; grandchildren, Beverly McMahon, Sharon Dupuis and husband, Bobby, Tim McMahon and wife, Christie, Jenny Currie and husband, Neil, Sandra Dugan and husband, Chuck, Christie Southworth, and Charles Southworth.; great-grandchildren, Travis Dellinger, Robert Dupuis, Austen Winters, Alex McMahon, Stevie Dellinger, April Turner and husband, Luke, and Kate McMahon, Alyssa and Ryan Currie; great-great-granddaughter, River Turner; sisters, Mattie Chapman and Bessie Pritchard, both of Morganton; and a brother, Ted Epley and wife, Grace of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth McMahon; a great-granddaughter, Stacy Dawn Dellinger; a brother, Bud Epley; and a baby brother and sister.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 26, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm.  The burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 27 at the McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
