Nancy Elizabeth Poteet Clark, 76, of Morganton died Thursday, April 4, 2019. Born in Burke County, NC on December 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Willard Ervin Poteet and Julia Mae Brittain Poteet. Nancy was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed teaching children. Nancy loved her family and was a wonderful caregiver for her husband.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ray A. Clark of the home; sons, Ray C. Clark (Julie) and Jay E. Clark; grandchildren, Sarah Cole, Samuel Clark, and Eli Clark; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Madison Cole; sister, Shirley Swink; and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a grandson, Colin Ray Clark.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Dr. Jack Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anchored Ministry at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
