Nanabell Hollifield Fender, 78, died Thursday, March 1, 2018.  Born in McDowell County, NC on February 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Clay Hollifield and Fatima Hensley Hollifield.  Nanabell was a member of Summit Community Church.  She loved Jesus and used to sing the Lord’s Prayer to her children.  She was an assistant bible study teacher and was proud of what she did.

Mrs. Fender is survived by her son, Michael Dean Fender of Shelbyville, IN; daughters, Reca Ann Edwards of Arrington, TN, Cynthia Elaine Clark of Nebo, NC, and Christina Lynn Harkey of Asheville, NC; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Novella Bentley of Nebo.

In addition to her parents, Nanabell was preceded in death by 3 brothers, J.T., Leo Eugene, and Harvey Dean Hollifield.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday March 4, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
