Mrs. Vivian Marie Schuszler, 93, of Morganton died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Burke Hospice. Mrs. Schuszler was born December 9, 1918 in Burke County, a daughter of Hinkel Monroe Lingafelt and Beulah Henson Lingafelt.She was the quintessential stay-at-home-mom, raising four children in Cleveland, OH before returning to Burke County following the death of her husband. In Morganton she worked at Mothers’ Morning Out for the First Baptist Church and as a pink lady at Grace Hospital while helping her siblings with their aging parents. She loved nothing so much as simply being with her family and many friends, but she enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and playing bridge as well, and she never tired of the delights of New York City.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Schuszler was preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius Schuszler; sisters, Macie Stratton and Rassie La Tella; and brothers, Manuel, Oscar, and Richard Lingafelt.She is survived by her daughter, Faith Grill and her husband, Tom, of New York City; sons, Neal Schuszler of Morganton, Fred Schuszler and his wife, Jeanette, of Morganton, and Val Schuszler and his wife, Barbara, of Madison, NJ; grandchildren, Christopher Grill and his wife, Janine, of Bronx, NY, Jamie Atlas and her husband, Reuben, of Brooklyn, NY, Daniel Grill of Brooklyn, NY, Anna Schuszler of Hickory, Taliessin Schuszler of Morganton, and Jessica, Emma, and Luke Schuszler of Madison, NJ; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Hayley Grill of Bronx, NY and Braedon Schuszler of Hickory; sisters, Inez Sewell of Ashburn, VA and Margaret Digh of Morganton; and fifteen nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. A private family committal service will be held at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or to First Baptist Church, P.O.
